Evonik Cyro Introduces Acrylic Specialty Bonding Agents

Parsippany, NJ, January 8, 2009

Evonik Cyro LLC, leading manufacturer of a variety of specialty acrylic products, recently announced the launch of ACRIFIX™ specialty bonding agents (SBAs), a new line of cements for use with thermoplastics,. ACRIFIX SBA is a perfect complement to ACRYLITE acrylic products and, together with Evonik Cyro’s superior technical service and support, creates a total solution for acrylic fabrication. However, this new range of superior cements works with all kind of thermoplastics.

The ACRIFIX product family consists so far of ACRIFIX™ 2R 0190, the most versatile reactive SBA; ACRIFIX™ 2R 0195, a satin finished reactive cement; and ACRIFIX™ 1 S 0117, the only non-methylene chloride solvent cement in the North-American market. “All three ACRIFIX SBAs provide the combination of optimal quality, bonding strength and speed, and can be used in a variety of applications, including museum displays, shadowbox framing, exhibits, P-O-P displays/store fixtures, furniture, lighting, and aquariums”, says Patty Yeh, Product Manager for Specialty Bonding Agents at Evonik Cyro.

The ACRIFIX 1S 0117 solvent cement has superior capillary action for better flow through, and it dries quickly with a stronger bond and better appearance. Both ACRIFIX reactive cements are UV-stabilized and highly weatherable for high-quality requirements. ACRIFIX 2R 0190 is viscous, dries clear and bubble free making it ideal for applications such as museum vitrines housing historical documents or artifacts. Completing the product range is ACRIFIX 2R 0195 with a unique satin finish to create strong and seamless joints with textured, light-diffusing products like ACRYLITE® Satin Ice, ACRYLITE® P-95 or DP-9 acrylic sheet. Auxiliary products, which help speed up, slow down or modify the look and shape of the joints, are also available in the ACRIFIX portfolio. In order to familiarize customers with the product range and its capabilities, Evonik Cyro is offering a free sample program within the initial market launch period, Some restrictions may apply.
